My Love for Korean Dramas #6

You guys already know I’m heavily into K-pop, I’m not sure if I’ve every really mentioned that I love K-dramas too! I love them so much I sometimes wish my life was a K-drama!

I think in all I’ve watched about 13-14, not very many but I intend on watching a lot more! I have just finished Love Rain and absolutely loved it! I really want to review it for you guys! What do you think? I want to talk more on K-pop, Dramas and Korea I’m just never really sure if you guys would enjoy it. It would be my ultimate dream to travel to Korea, and someday, I will get there. But for the moment I’ll just stick to my K-dramas, K-pop, K-food and K-skincare :P.

Let me know below, would you like to hear more about my Korean obsession and reviews? I hope so, I know I’d really enjoy doing it!

7 Day Post Challenge

All these challenges are coming about quite often now and I absolutely love doing them. I love doing them so much that I decided to create my own(forgive me if this idea has already been done)!

I sat for a while trying to figure out what I could do that would actually be a challenge for me and decided that I could do a post a day for seven days, as you should all know that I’m terrible at posting regularly.

So as of tomorrow I will be posting daily for seven days and I’m going to tag Emmimori to start it too.

The rules? there are none, just have fun! All you have to do is tag another blogger to pass it on!

Happy posting!!

Losing Weight, Easy as 1, 2, …CAKE #4

So I’ve been off the wagon recently, more because I’ve been ill, not because I’ve been lazy. Whilst being ill I’ve wanted to eat constantly, especially carbs, my body was craving them like mad! I listened to my body and have it what it wanted but still was careful of what I ate. I also missed the gym for one week and barely went the next. After all this I decided I would face the truth and see how much I had gained (I was certain I had gained due to eating the equivalent of 50 cows and being a girl, I’m sure you all understand, Mother Nature was taking its course). When I got on the scales I was surprised to see that I had actually lost 1 pound!

So what I’m trying to say guys is if you’re ill, listen to your body. If you’re tired, rest. Missing one or a few workouts won’t ruin your progress. If you’re hungry, eat. Your body needs all the energy it can get to fight off the sickness, you won’t ruin your weightless by doing this. If your body is craving for a particular food, eat it. At the end of the day it’s not what you eat, it’s how much of it you eat. Eating good foods will always make you feel a little better in yourself, just don’t overindulge.

Don’t torture yourself because you’re desperate to lose weight. Everybody deserves a break at some point.

Xx

Losing Weight, Easy as 1, 2, …CAKE #3

Hey everyone,

Sorry for the recent silence, I’ve been so ill with this cold that I’ve not felt up to blogging. I’m pretty sure I’ve gained some weight back as I probably ate the equivalent to 15 cows… but hey, these things happen!

That’s the thing with dieting, you focus so much on losing the weight that if you do find you gain a pound or two, you don’t know how to react to it. Your initial reaction would be disappointment. What you need to know is that those things will happen from time to time and that it’s OK. Just because you gained a couple of pounds back doesn’t mean all your hard work has been undone.

When it comes to dieting, it’s a good thing to change up your diet every now and again. The way, you know what works best for you and your body. For example, when I first started dieting I was eating at a calorie deficit with exercise. I then decided to give Weight Watchers a go, shortly after that I went back to calorie counting then I decided to try Slimming world, then I finally went back to calorie counting at a deficit. From trying out different diets I found that eating fewer calories and exercising works for me. I’d highly encourage new dieters to do the same. That way you can find a plan that you are happy and comfortable with and you will be more likely to stick to it.

You also need to give yourself time. As I said in my previous post, losing weight doesn’t happen over night. It takes time. To be honest, the longer it takes to come off usually means it will take longer to be gained back. I found that when I was losing weight fast, I’d binge a lot and it would really make me feel crap. Now I’m taking it slow, especially after this cold.

I’m going to try and mix my diet up a bit by trying high-protein, high-fat and low carb. It was weigh day yesterday (I couldn’t bring myself to get weighed)but I didn’t attend so I’ll update you all next week and let you know how its going :).

Much love

Losing Weight, Easy as 1, 2, …CAKE #2

Hi guys!

And welcome back to my second losing weight post. So, before I get started I’ll give you all a little update. I got weighed last week and managed to lose a pound which I’m really proud of myself for! I have been weighed this week as I’m quite I’ll with the cold but that’s not stopping me from eating healthily!

I know some people say that losing weight is really hard but the truth is, it isn’t! It’s just a matter of patience, determination, motivation, willpower and consistency. I’ll explain why:

In order to shed those pounds, you need to be patient as it wont just happen overnight, it takes time and you need to be consistent with your plan in order to see the results. You also need motivation to get you started, to get you eating that healthy meal, to get you in that gym class. It could be something small like being inspired by your favourite idol to something big like losing a couple of dress sizes for your wedding day. You need the determination to stick with it, to push yourself harder. Yes, you might have to cut down on the food and drink you love so much and yes, you might have to spend more time in the gym sweating your butt off than you’d like, but in the end it’ll totally be worth it.

Like I said before, losing weight means that you’d have to eat at a slight deficit and exercise more. You may not find it fun but there are plenty of ways to enjoy it. If your not a gym freak like myself then you can take your dog out for an hours walk instead or head down to the park with your child or younger sibling. No one said you cant play on the apparatus too! If your stuck for ideas, google is your friend.

If you are determined to exercise, getting a heart rate monitor is a great idea. I currently own a Polar FT4 and I couldn’t live without it. It tells me what my current heart rate is, whether I’m in my fat burning zone and how many calories I’ve burnt. The best part about that is that I get to eat half of them back! If you’re unsure on what heart rate monitor to get, looking up reviews on them is very helpful. I will also be posting a review on my Polar :).

Like my last post, I will be keeping this one short but sweet so I don’t overload you with information.

Much love,

Carrie x

Losing Weight, Easy as 1, 2…CAKE!!! #1

Hi guys!

So most of you will have probably promised yourself to lose weight in the new year. I made myself that exact promise about 10 years ago and am still trying. I managed to nearly get to my goal weight a few years back, but it wasn’t the healthiest of diets and I really wouldn’t recommend it. After a bad break up all the weight went back on and I’m pretty much at square one again.

I figured I could do a mini series keeping track of my weightloss to help keep myself motivated and to help motivate, inspire other and to give help and advice.

It’s been two weeks since I started this seriously and so far I have lost 3lbs (YAY!!). I’ve been sticking to a calorie controlled diet, allowing me 1440 calories a day which should technically help me lose 1.5lbs a week. Of course, not everyone has to follow this way of weightloss. Some people find that they just can’t stick to it and maybe find it easier to eat healthily or to follow a specific diet like Slimming World. As long as you’re eating enough food but are in a deficit to lose weight and are getting all your vitamins (hooray for multivitamin tablets) I say GO FOR IT!!

If like me and you prefer counting your calories, then I would strongly advise you to try out an app I’ve been using for the past 7 years called MyFitnessPal. It is available on both Apple and Andriod devices. I won’t go on about it too much but it’s basically a calorie counting app with a huge food database and you can either manually type what you’re eating or scan it’s barcode and it comes up with the serving sizes and calories etc. It’s very easy to use once you get the hang of it and the people on there are very supportive! It’s also very easy to keep on top of what you’re eating as it tells you how many calories you’ve eaten and how many you have left to eat that day.

To lose weight you basically need to eat at a defecit. Each pound is made up of 3500 calories so to gain a pound you need to eat this much on top of your maintenance amount (I’ll go into this a little more on the next post) and to lose a pound you need to cut out 3500 calories, of course I wouldn’t recommend doing this in a day. The best way is to aim for this in a week with a little bit of exercise. What ever sort of exercise you do is up to you, as long as you’re doing something :). You’ll find eventually you’ll start losing weight, but when it comes to looking like you’ve lost weight, you’ll always be the last one to notice, so keep it up and you’ll notice eventually! Also remember, keep yourself hydrated! Drink at least 2-3 litres of water a day to help flush your body out. You’ll also find you’ll get some added skin benefits from doing this. I’ll talk about all this a little more in the next post, feel free to ask any questions you have :).

I’m planning to do a weightloss update at least once a week and I’ll also answer any questions you have about it.

Much love,

Carrie x
