Why are People So Damn Unhelpful!!! #3

So this post is a little out of the ordinary for me, you could almost say it is a rant! So, I’ll start from the beginning.

Myself, my sister Emily (Emmimori) and my fiance were out for a day out in Ramsgate today, and we were having a walk around town. My fiance loves looking in furniture shops so e went and had a look in the Pilgrims Hospice charity shop as they had a big furniture section at the back. I walked in there with my phone and glasses in hand and had a look around. I found these gorgeous glasses and decided to buy them so I walked over to the checkout with them and was served by an old woman who seemed quite nice.

We left the shop as they were closing soon and walked on for about 10 minutes. I went to put my sunglasses back on and it was then that I realised I didn’t have them. Were had I put them?? The case was big enough, how could I lose it!? I double checked my handbag and nothing! If it were any other pair of sunglasses I wouldn’t have minded but they were my prescription pair and cost me £90 so losing them was the last thing I wanted! I traced my steps back and realised I could have left them in the Pilgrims Hospice Charity shop so we ran back as they had already closed in hopes someone was still there.

My fiance got there first and was knocking on the glass, the woman behind the checkout was clearly ignoring him so I banged slightly harder on the window to grab her attention and signed for her to come over. She unlocked the door and I explained my missing glasses situation. All she said to me was “you didn’t leave any glasses on the desk”… That wasn’t what I had asked, I asked if they were anywhere in the store! All I was hoping for was either for her to have a quick look for me or to let me have a look and that definitely seemed like too much to ask.

She closed and locked the door and we began to walk away. It was then that I realised I couldn’t find my phone in my pocket. Slightly freaking out, I tore my bag open and it wasn’t in there either!! I had absolutely no idea what to do! I had old photos with no backups, I was logged into accounts with my card details on them and I had no idea where it was! My glasses situation was soon forgotten about.

Emily was calling my phone as we were making our way back to the amusements as that was the only other place I had been to and I was close to tears at this point. After a few calls, a man had finally picked up! Emily spoke to him for a bit and he told her where he was… The Pilgrims Hospice Charity shop. He also said there was a pair of glasses with the phone.

I was fuming! we walked back the shop and the man was waiting patiently by the door for us, he said they were by the table where I picked up the glasses from. The woman hadn’t moved from her chair, she didn’t even come over to apologise for not actually helping! I was so mad. I was close to tears, stressing, I didn’t know what to do, and it all could have been avoided if she had just been a bit more helpful. Instead she didn’t care!

I guess what I’m trying to say is, if the situation ever arises, always help those in need. My situation today wasn’t exactly the worst, I don’t actually think I’d have ever found my stuff if I hadn’t found out I’d lost it till later as the shop had already closed! But if I had the help from the woman, it would have saved a lot of worry and stress.

That’s it, rant over!! I feel much better now 🙂

P.s I also got attacked by a seagull today. It flew into my head, grabbed my hair which was in a bum and tried to fly away with it.

1# My Saturday In Pictures

Hey guys! So I know it’s almost the end of the week now but I really wanted to share what I got up to last Saturday with you, I even took pictures! It was my last week and we decided to go out to Canterbury for a mini shopping trip (post coming soon) and some lunch! Overall, it was a lovely day :).

First up, we popped into Superdrug whilst we waited for the people we were having lunch with to turn up, and I treated myself to a few bits. I always feel so overwhelmed when in there as there is so much to look at and choose from, I never know where to start!!

IMG_20170527_152821

I just had to take a picture of the town, it was so hot and busy! We brought a box of ice creams and stood outside Superdrug chowing down!

We were planning on going to Wok & Go for lunch as I had absolutely fallen in love with the place and had nearly filled up my loyalty card but found it had closed! We decided on Pizza hut and I definitely made the most of the free salad bar. As you can see it’s just nachos, salsa and jalapenos. But it’s called a salad bar…so it’s salad, right? I’m also a big fan of pineapple on pizza (strange thing though, I like to eat the pineapple off first so it’s essentially just a ham pizza) so I got one to myself and tried to get arty when taking the pictures. You can probably see that I couldn’t wait to take pictures and had already dug in!

Lastly, we went to see a rock band called Shameful Behaviour that my uncle was playing the bass in (far right). I went with my two sisters (Emmimori), my sisters partner and my fiance. It was such a great night and they played awesome songs!! I’d definitely see them again!

I hope you enjoyed this post! It’s a bit different to my normal kind but I wanted to show you what I get up to 🙂

7 Day Post Challenge

All these challenges are coming about quite often now and I absolutely love doing them. I love doing them so much that I decided to create my own(forgive me if this idea has already been done)!

I sat for a while trying to figure out what I could do that would actually be a challenge for me and decided that I could do a post a day for seven days, as you should all know that I’m terrible at posting regularly.

So as of tomorrow I will be posting daily for seven days and I’m going to tag Emmimori to start it too.

The rules? there are none, just have fun! All you have to do is tag another blogger to pass it on!

Happy posting!!

My 30 Day No Buy FAIL!

Long story short (and if you’re a regular reader of my blog, you will already know this), I decided to give the 30 day no buy challenge a go and needless to say, I completely caved before the first week was even up! I’m not too fussed about not making the full 30 days, but I did manage to cut down on my spending which saved me a bit of money.

The rules of the challenge are to not buy anything for 30 days. Absolutely nothing! Unless it’s a necessity, of course. I didn’t think this would be difficult at first, but after about three days I found it really hard to stick to my guns!

I guess the aim of this challenge is to show that we don’t need to constantly spend our money, and if we only purchased the necessary things, we could actually save quite a lot! I managed to save a couple of hundred pounds by cutting down and I think that’s something I’m going to stick to!

Have you tried this challenge! Better yet, has anyone completed the challenge? I’d love to hear about it!

Nivea For Men Shaving Balm… You’ll Never Guess What!

Guess what this product can be used as? Go on, guess!

You’ll never guess! I couldn’t until I was told that it could be used a makeup primer!!

I thought that this statement was so ridiculous that I decided to do the sensible thing (and probably what everyone else would do) and try it out for myself. I brought myself a bottle from my local Morrisons for £5 (Bargain!!) and tried it out as soon as I got home. It looked like a primer and felt like a primer, so far so good.

I applied my make up as I usually do and it felt like it went on smoothly. I looked at the final outcome and my make up looked flawless! I decided to see how long it would last so I left it on until I went to bed and it still looked just as good then! I’ve been using this as a primer everyday!

If you haven’t tried it yet, I’d really recommend you do. Let me know what you think about this product! (make sure you keep an eye out for which one you buy as there is a normal version and sensitive version. The normal version can irritate your skin!)

I can’t believe I’m actually doing this…

For those of you who don’t already know, I can’t resist a good bargain! Meaning sometimes I can spend a fair ain’t of my wages on things I don’t actually need. After doing some online research on money saving tips, I came across the 30 day no buy challenge. It sounds horrific and I’m definitely going to struggle but I feel it’ll be with it in the long run!

So you may be asking “Carrie, I’m extremely interested in the 30 day no buy challenge and would like to participate, please explain more?” And I will explain it to you. For 30 WHOLE days you can’t buy ANYTHING! Unless it’s a necessity. You want to make a budget for your rent, food costs, fuel, contracts, direct debits etc and put the rest away. So when that nice new lipstick finally goes on sale, you can’t even go there!

I think not only will this challenge be a massive pain in the ass, it’ll be kind of fun, so I’d definitely say I’m looking forward to it! You may think I’ve gone nuts but it’s more to prove to myself that I’m not a shopaholic (aren’t we all sometimes??!!).

If you’re interested in taking part in this challenge, let me know! Or if you’ve done something similar, I’d love to hear about it!

Nail Polish for Valentines <3

Hi all!

So my mum came to me yesterday and asked if she could borrow a nail polish for valentines day. I got out my collection and we went through it together picking out colours that would suit the occasion. We ended up with 6 different colours to choose from, so I figured I’d share them with you all!

DSC_0366

In all there were six different colours and none of them were really the same either! They ranged from pretty pinks to a smoky petrol colour.

First up is Rimmels 60 second in Princess Pink. This is a soft elegant shade of pink and suits those who like the delicate sorts of colours. It does what it says and dries fast. I was absolutely obsessed with this polish when I first got it as it was perfect to wear everyday!

Next up is the same brand, but in Rapid Beauty. This is such a gorgeous and romantic shade of red and I’d say its got more of a wine shade to it. I love wearing this on nights out as I can match it to any outfit :).

Next on my list  is a polish by Barry M. I absolutely love this brand and I have so many different colours! This one doesn’t actually have a name for the shade, but it’s one of the textured types. The colour may look similar to the Princess Pink by Rimmel but this shade is more pink whereas the Princess Pink has a peachy undertone to it. I love this nail polish, when I first got it, i didn’t realise I had brought a textured one so was quite shocked when it dried. But after I realised, I quite liked the look and feel of the texture to it.

Another Barry M Shade I have is called Duchess and I would have to say that it is my all-time favorite nail polish. Its the most gorgeous glittery brown colour I have ever seen and when it dried textured (it’s another from the textured effect line) it felt like I had lots of tiny gems on my nails. When I glossed it over, it was so glittery I received quite a few compliments on it. I would recommend this polish to anyone and everyone! It’s perfect for every occasion, especially Valentines day.

Next up is a polish by a brand called Yes Love. I’ve never heard of this brand and I brought it when I was out in Majorca. When it is applied, glossed over and the light hits it, its the most incredible petrol colour with a hint of red. The perfect sort of colour for those who prefer darker shades. This colour doesn’t have a name, but I’d be more than happy to find out more about it if anyone would like to know 🙂

Last but not least, I have a high end nail polish. This one is by Lancome, and again like the previous polish, this one doesn’t have a name but I would be more than happy to look into it if anyone would like to know. This is another shade of pink, but more of a hot pink and is absolutely lovely! It applies really well and when glossed over, looks absolutely fantastic! This colour is perfect for those who prefer bolder shades.
