E.L.F Review and Swatches

I feel like I havent posted in ages even though it’s only been a bit over a week! The reason is because I got a new job! It was my first week last week and I absolutely love it! I guess I’m going to have to find a routine so I can go to work, gym then blog as I seem to struggle doing all three at the moment!

Back to the blog 😛

E.L.F has finally come to the UK! I’m probably a little behind but as soon as I found out, I rushed out to my closest Superdrug and grabbed a few products. As you all know, I’m a huge fan of foundations so I only brought a foundation, primer and concealer.

The first product I picked up was the tone adjusting face primer. There was no tester on this and there were so many to choose from so I was literally going on my own instinct. When I got home to try it, I was pleasantly surprised with a gorgeous smoothing texture that makes my face feel so matte! This cost £9.00 which is roughly what I would pay and I have to say, you’re definitely getting your moneys worth!

Next Is the foundation and I went for the Foundation Serum. I wasn’t sure which to go with at first and had my heart set on this one even though it looked slightly too dark in the bottle (again no tester). This product cost £9 and I’m so happy I went ahead with it. I’t looked dark on the bottle, but it is the perfect shade for my skin tone. It feels very smoothing and like it says on the bottle, it’s a serum. I’d say it has light to medium coverage but could definitely be buildable!

Last up is the HD Lifting Concealer. I LOVE Concealers and I was really impressed with the formula of this one! The only thing I was disappointed with was the fact you had a choice of three shades which are fair, medium and dark and there were no testers. I went for fair and when I tried it on my skin at home it was slightly too dark, so I wouldn’t recommend it for building. It does make a great under eye concealer as it is slightly orange toned.

Overall I’m really pleased with my first E.L.F products and am definitely going back for more!

What’s your favourite E.L.F products and which would you recommend?

My Love for Korean Dramas #6

You guys already know I’m heavily into K-pop, I’m not sure if I’ve every really mentioned that I love K-dramas too! I love them so much I sometimes wish my life was a K-drama!

I think in all I’ve watched about 13-14, not very many but I intend on watching a lot more! I have just finished Love Rain and absolutely loved it! I really want to review it for you guys! What do you think? I want to talk more on K-pop, Dramas and Korea I’m just never really sure if you guys would enjoy it. It would be my ultimate dream to travel to Korea, and someday, I will get there. But for the moment I’ll just stick to my K-dramas, K-pop, K-food and K-skincare :P.

Let me know below, would you like to hear more about my Korean obsession and reviews? I hope so, I know I’d really enjoy doing it!

Why are People So Damn Unhelpful!!! #3

So this post is a little out of the ordinary for me, you could almost say it is a rant! So, I’ll start from the beginning.

Myself, my sister Emily (Emmimori) and my fiance were out for a day out in Ramsgate today, and we were having a walk around town. My fiance loves looking in furniture shops so e went and had a look in the Pilgrims Hospice charity shop as they had a big furniture section at the back. I walked in there with my phone and glasses in hand and had a look around. I found these gorgeous glasses and decided to buy them so I walked over to the checkout with them and was served by an old woman who seemed quite nice.

We left the shop as they were closing soon and walked on for about 10 minutes. I went to put my sunglasses back on and it was then that I realised I didn’t have them. Were had I put them?? The case was big enough, how could I lose it!? I double checked my handbag and nothing! If it were any other pair of sunglasses I wouldn’t have minded but they were my prescription pair and cost me £90 so losing them was the last thing I wanted! I traced my steps back and realised I could have left them in the Pilgrims Hospice Charity shop so we ran back as they had already closed in hopes someone was still there.

My fiance got there first and was knocking on the glass, the woman behind the checkout was clearly ignoring him so I banged slightly harder on the window to grab her attention and signed for her to come over. She unlocked the door and I explained my missing glasses situation. All she said to me was “you didn’t leave any glasses on the desk”… That wasn’t what I had asked, I asked if they were anywhere in the store! All I was hoping for was either for her to have a quick look for me or to let me have a look and that definitely seemed like too much to ask.

She closed and locked the door and we began to walk away. It was then that I realised I couldn’t find my phone in my pocket. Slightly freaking out, I tore my bag open and it wasn’t in there either!! I had absolutely no idea what to do! I had old photos with no backups, I was logged into accounts with my card details on them and I had no idea where it was! My glasses situation was soon forgotten about.

Emily was calling my phone as we were making our way back to the amusements as that was the only other place I had been to and I was close to tears at this point. After a few calls, a man had finally picked up! Emily spoke to him for a bit and he told her where he was… The Pilgrims Hospice Charity shop. He also said there was a pair of glasses with the phone.

I was fuming! we walked back the shop and the man was waiting patiently by the door for us, he said they were by the table where I picked up the glasses from. The woman hadn’t moved from her chair, she didn’t even come over to apologise for not actually helping! I was so mad. I was close to tears, stressing, I didn’t know what to do, and it all could have been avoided if she had just been a bit more helpful. Instead she didn’t care!

I guess what I’m trying to say is, if the situation ever arises, always help those in need. My situation today wasn’t exactly the worst, I don’t actually think I’d have ever found my stuff if I hadn’t found out I’d lost it till later as the shop had already closed! But if I had the help from the woman, it would have saved a lot of worry and stress.

That’s it, rant over!! I feel much better now 🙂

P.s I also got attacked by a seagull today. It flew into my head, grabbed my hair which was in a bum and tried to fly away with it.

7 Day Post Challenge

All these challenges are coming about quite often now and I absolutely love doing them. I love doing them so much that I decided to create my own(forgive me if this idea has already been done)!

I sat for a while trying to figure out what I could do that would actually be a challenge for me and decided that I could do a post a day for seven days, as you should all know that I’m terrible at posting regularly.

So as of tomorrow I will be posting daily for seven days and I’m going to tag Emmimori to start it too.

The rules? there are none, just have fun! All you have to do is tag another blogger to pass it on!

Happy posting!!

Smoky Eye for Blue Eyes

My eyes are quite a bright shade of blue and I find that because of my dark circles, most smoky eye looks just make my tiredness look worse. But luckily, I know what colours go well with blue eyes so I can enjoy the smoky look just as much as the next person!

Here are the products I used:

Loreal Lumi Magique

Seventeen Phwoar Paint

Seventeen 18 Hour Stay Concealer

Make Up Revolution Ultra Sculpt and Contour Kit

Ben Nye Banana Powder

NYX Illuminator (in Ritualistic)

Inner Corner/middle – Silver loose eyeshadow (No labelling on the pot!)

Outer corner/middle/lower lashline outer corner – grey shimmery loose eyeshadow (No labelling on the pot!)

Outer v -Bourjois Eyeshadow La Palette Les Nudes (Darkest colour in palette)

Lower lashline inner corner – Bourjois Eyeshadow La Palette Les Nudes – White

Rimmel Gel Liner

NYX Micro Brow Pencil

Make Up Forever Lab Shine Lip Gloss

I didn’t actually put any mascara on for this look as I wanted to go for a brown colour but mine had just ran out! I also stayed away from colours that were too dark so stuck to shimmery greys and silvers s they catch the light and help my eyes look a bit brighter.

I hope you like this look! Let me know if you’d like a step by step tutorial! Thanks for reading! x

Boots Haul

I went to Boots recently to have a look around and ended up buying a few products (no surprise there). I decided I’d go for a few different things to what I normally buy and I that I’d share them with you.

I’ll start with cosmetics. Bourjois is one of my favourite brands so you can imagine how excited I was when I saw that they had brought out a new foundation, I just had to buy it! It’s called ‘City Radiance’.

Next up is another Bourjois product. This one is their ‘Radiance Reveal’ concealer. Again like the foundation, it is new and I had to buy it!

On to skincare products. I was curious about Boots own brand as I have never used a stores own brand before so I decided I’d try it out. I brought a small exfoliating sponge (not pictured as I have just used it), a 3-minute cucumber clay mask and the cucumber facial wash. Not bad for a 3 for £3 deal! I also decided I’d try a new moisturiser as my skin had been playing up a lot. The one I decided to go for was Eucerin for Oily and blemish Prone skin.
