As you all know it was my birthday a few weeks ago and I only just recently received a lovely belated birthday present. It’s a Nivea Gift bag and I absolutely love it so I thought I’d open it up and show you whats inside!
The bag itself is a lovely pale peach colour with a teal/baby blue colour inside, it a really nice and summery colour combination. All the products come a cute pale peach drawstring bag which is handy for using to store my current skincare products when when I travel!
And here is the bit I’m excited to share with you, the 6 full size products that are included!!
Included is a Shower gel, Hand cream, Moisturising cream, a deodorant stick, day cream and a bottle of micellar water. I’ve only tried one of these products which is the micellar water so I’m excited about seeing what the rest is like 🙂
Recently I posted a mini haul (you can read it here) and in this haul I purchased two bottles of Tesco Aloe Vera body gel as I was suffering with terrible sunburn.
I was so impressed with this product that I decided that I really wanted to review it and share it with you.
I’m not usually one to stick to regularly moisturising my body, I really feel like I should do it more often but it really does feel like a chore to me! Plus I usually have to wait ages for the moisturiser to dry before I can touch any furniture or put my clothes on! I never really seemed worth it.
I guess after burning the hell out of my skin and seeing how great this product is, I don’t mind moisturising now!
I’ll start with the price. I purchased this for £3 as all the Aloe Vera after suns were quite expensive and this one looked like it would help with my burns just as good as the rest. I also felt like I was getting more for my money as the bottle is quite big.
After taking it home I had a freezing cold shower and applied it to my sunburn. It left a nice cooling effect, didn’t feel like it was irritating my skin and dried so quickly, like almost instant!! I started using it regularly and my skin had never been better! It helped take away the dry peeling skin and helped make my skin feel incredibly hydrated.
I was using it 4-5 times a day for a solid 3 to 4 days and haven’t even used a quarter of the bottle yet!
I definitely will continue to use this product as I’m still yet to find a fault with it and if I’m honest I don’t think I will. It’s cheap, you get a lot for your money, it smells great and dries really quickly! I’d definitely recommend it!
Do you have any favourite body moisturisers? Comment below!!
I was browsing YouTube the other day and decided to catch upon some Wayne Goss videos. One video caught my eye in particular and boy, was I glad I watched it! It was a tip video on applying your moisturiser in a way that can make your face a flawless base for foundation.
Basically, when you apply your moisturiser, you’re not applying a pea-sized amount to your face, you need to apply two baby carrot sized amount to your face (does that make sense? I did actually measure it against a baby carrot). I know that sounds like a lot but the trick is to apply it gradually so it all sinks in. Once the first layer dries, add the next layer and so on, until you’ve used all the moisturiser up.
After I had done this and allowed it to dry, my skin felt so smooth! Like a babys butt!! I applied my foundation like I usually do and it went on flawlessly!! I was super impressed.
Have you tried this technique yet If so, what did you think? Let me know in the comments below!
Welcome back to my second monthly favourites post! I know it’s a bit late but I really enjoy doing these so I’m not letting a silly illness stop me!!!! (COME AT ME, COLD!!)
First up on my favourites list is the Eucerin moisturiser I brought from Boots. I hadn’t read any review on his product or researched it, I just picked it up and hoped for the best. Since then I’ve used it religiously every morning. I really feel like it’s made a difference on my skin. It claims to give you clearer skin after 4 weeks and if I’m honest, I noticed a difference in mine after just 2 weeks.
My next favourite is the MUA loose powder. I brought this as I was looking for a cheap setting powder but after using it, I’m really impressed with it. It gives good coverage and a little really does go a long way!
Next is Avons Matte lipstick in Au Naturale. I’m in love with this lipstick as its long lasting and moisturising. I also find that it doesn’t really transfer.
I just recently brought the Lottie face brushes and they are probably some of the best brushes I’ve used and owned. The brushes that made it onto My favourites are the foundation brush, the powder brush and the contouring brush. The brushes are really soft and apply my makeup so well. I especially love how colourful they are!
Last but not least on my list is the Revolution highlighter. A little goes a long way with this product and it is really long lasting! I love it so much!
I know this post is a little late but this is my first monthly favourites and I’m determined to get it posted! Honestly, I didn’t find it very difficult picking out my favourite things which I’ve found surprising as there’s a lot I’ve loved this month.

First up is the Cetaphil Moisturiser. I absolutely love this product. It contains no harsh chemicals which is a bonus and is very moisturising, which is perfect for my dry skin. It also has no scent which I like as most heavy moisturiser can smell medicated.
My next favourite is the Johnsons Hint of Tint. This product has really become my best friend over February as my skin really suffers when it’s cold and I’m more likely to break out. I’ve been using this during those times and its been really nice to give my skin a rest from foundation but still get a bit of coverage.

I’m loving the L’oreal True Match Powder. I actually have two of these as I like to keep one in my bag for on-the-go purposes. It applies like a beaut, is buildable and isn’t cakey.

I try not to use face wipes as I find they can be harsh on my skin but sometimes I just need that little bit more help removing my makeup in the evening. The Nivea Naturals face wipes are the best! They’re really soft and don’t leave my face feeling sore.

Last but not least is a book that I just couldn’t put down. I’m usually one for romantic books so I was quite surprised that I took an instant liking to ‘Feed’ by Mira Grant. I wasn’t as surprised when I found out there was zombies in it (I’m slightly obsessed with zombies). It was such a gripping book and the plot was excellent! I’d really recommend it all those out there searching for a great read!
So, long story short. I was having a really bad acne flare up last week and I was really self conscious of it as I had two great big whoppers on my face. I was in blue water at the time so decided to check out boots to see if there was anything in the skincare section that could possibly help.
After looking round for a bit the Johnsons Hint of Tint caught my eye, not because it claimed to work miracles but because I simply liked the look of it and the packaging. After reading on the box what it claimed it could do, I guess I had nothing to lose (except £5.99) and I was pretty desperate.
I didn’t use it till a few days later and I must admit, I haven’t had much luck with these kinds of products so I wasn’t getting my hopes up. It applied to my skin easily and blended in like a charm considering I used my fingers. Needless to say, I was super impressed with the coverage as being a moisturiser it is designed to give very light – light coverage, but it definitely made a difference on my complexion, and my zits!
Unfortunately, I’m one of those people who sometimes suffer with dry skin around my spot, and it seemed to emphasise that a little but compared to a regular foundation, it was nothing!
Personally I’d recommend this product to all as it gives your skin that little pick me up it needs! And if you’re like me and get an oily T zone, I find this product shines on that area so I just blot it with a little powder and it looks great!!
